Counselors-In-Training Workshop

Counselors-In-Training is for young adults who work for organizations that provide recreational programs for groups of young children.

  • 4-Hour Training Course
  • For ages 13 and older
  • Maximum 40 students
  • Instructor fee: $350*
  • Course manuals included
  • Perfect to train your current counselors; or
  • Offer the class as a pre-requisite for a counselor job

This Workshop discusses:

  • Responsibilities of overseeing young children
  • Protecting the children in their care
  • Who to contact in an emergency
  • Incident & Injury reports
  • Medications
  • Dealing with a missing child
  • Fire safety
  • Building & area safety
  • Conducting activities & boarding vehicles safely
  • Basic First Aid & First Aid kit maintenance
  • Understanding a child’s ability
  • Acting professionally & transition from buddy to boss

COURSE DESCRIPTION FOR YOUR PROGRAM BOOK

This Counselors-In-Training is for young adults who work for organizations that provide recreational programs for groups of young children.  This class teaches responsibilities of overseeing young children, protecting the children in your care, who to contact in an emergency, incident  & injury reports, medications, dealing with a missing child, fire safety, basic First Aid, and more.  Instructor Debbie Laflamme has a degree in Early Childhood Education and operated as a licensed day are provider in Massachusetts and cared for children of all ages in her home for over 20 years.  Today she is a private care provider.
